An Atlantic spotted dolphin

SEA ISLE CITY – A pregnant Atlantic spotted dolphin washed ashore dead Sept. 13, in Sea Isle City.
According to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center’s Facebook page, in the MMSC’s 42-year history, the group has only ever had six Atlantic spotted dolphin strandings, including this dolphin and her unborn fetus.
She was transported to the New Jersey Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory for a necropsy to learn more about her cause of death.
