OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Environmental Commission is hosting a Bay Clean Up this Sunday, Sept. 26 from 9am til Noon.
The Commission encourages local boaters to help clean up the area of the Back Bay from 9th to 34th Street. The Back Bay of Ocean City is a popular area for ecotourism with more and more residents and visitors exploring this beautiful area.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the Bayside Center at 9am on Sunday, September 26th. Work gloves, bags and other supplies will be provided.
Life vests must be worn by all participants. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and a waiver form must be signed.
Launch locations will be at the Bayside Center located at 520 Bay Avenue, the Tennessee Avenue boat ramp, and at the base of the 34th Street Bridge. Residents, visitors and groups are encouraged to bring their kayaks and canoes.
Kayaks will be supplied at no charge for those who do not have one by Bay Cats on a first come first serve basis.
The event is being sponsored by the New Jersey Clean Communities Program, the Ocean City Environmental Commission and Bay Cats.
