CREST HAVEN – Due to the rain May 30, several ocean test sites in the county showed high bacteria, according to Kevin Thomas, director of the Cape May County Health Department.
Thomas continued, “One high count constitutes an advisory to be posted. In addition, it takes two consecutive samples to close a beach. The results that we are looking at today (June 2) are clean. Therefore no beach closures this week.
“Today’s samples will not be official until this afternoon,” he noted.
All ocean water monitoring results are posted on the NJDEP website: njbeaches.org.
Avalon – This economy is tough for everyone. Think I might have to sell my beach house! A good problem, but still forced.
