TRENTON – The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has announced the return of the New Jersey Clean Energy Conference: Charting the Path to 2050, to be held at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City April 6-7. According to a release, NJBPU is also seeking nominations for its Clean Energy Leadership Awards, which will be presented at the conference.
The conference will convene energy and business professionals to learn, network, and discuss the issues shaping New Jersey’s clean energy future as well as the broader Mid-Atlantic energy market.
Panels and breakout sessions will focus on strategies within the recently released Energy Master Plan, including topics on offshore wind, solar, electric vehicles, energy efficiency, microgrids, community engagement, and workforce development. Panel highlights include:
- Women and Climate: Leading the Conversation on Advocacy and Action
- Getting to 100%: A Statewide Commitment to Clean Energy (Cabinet Panel)
- $ave at Home: Energy Efficiency for All
- Evolution of an Industry: Accelerating Clean Energy Technology & Innovation

“The clean energy conference, which is returning after a ten-year hiatus, will showcase the nation-leading progress we have made in New Jersey to reach Governor Murphy’s goal of 100 percent clean energy by 2050,” stated Joseph L. Fiordaliso, NJBPU president. “Our moral obligation is providing a healthier future for the next generation, and at the conference we’ll be diving into the groundwork taking place now in pursuit of that goal.”
Featured speakers and panelists will include national subject matter experts, state and local officials, and advocacy leaders. Discounted rates are available for early registration, as well as for public employees and students with valid identification.
NJBPU is also seeking nominations for its Clean Energy Leadership Awards, which will honor individuals, local and county governments, businesses, schools, institutions, and organizations that have improved New Jersey’s economy and environment through the innovative use of clean energy technologies and have demonstrated effective ways to combat climate change. The award winners will be announced during the conference.
The deadline to submit award nominations is March 4. Nominations may be self-submitted or submitted by another individual.
Nominees must work—or in the case of organizations, have an office—in New Jersey in order to be eligible for an award. There is no fee to submit a nomination, but each individual may submit only one nomination per category.
