NORTH WILDWOOD – The annual beach fill project, which ensures the safety and security of North Wildwood’s beaches, was approved during North Wildwood City Council’s Feb. 1 meeting

The $2 million project is a part of the city’s Capital Improvement Planand will not see any debt added to the city’s finances. The project was awarded to C. Abbonizio Contractors LLC, whichplans to start the project in the coming weeks, with completion coming just before Memorial Day

In previous years, North Wildwood Public Works was in charge of removing fencing, walkways and other obstacles that prevented the beach fill contractors from completing certain areas of the beach. This year, an add alternate was put in place, which allows the contractor to complete the project under their jurisdiction.

This change allows Public Works to focus on preparing North Wildwood for Memorial Day weekend and ensure the beaches, as well as the town, are in pristine condition for the upcoming summer season.
