Local Students Attend National FFA Conference

COURT HOUSE — Keely Weinberger, of Dias Creek, daughter of Lynn and Paul Wollcott and James Ferguson, son of Mary Ellen Kelly and Jim Ferguson of Green Creek, participated in the National FFA Conference Aug. 1-5 in Syria, Va.
During the four-day conference, conducted by national FFA officers, state officers learned how to use motivation to create change in the lives of young people, achieve team leadership, discover and implement characteristics of a high-trust team, establish a state recruitment team and learn effective presentation skills.
Other state officers in attendance were Eric Nelson, president; Weinberger, vice president; Alec McAlarnen of North Wildwood, secretary; Rachel Layton, treasurer; Jessica McCosker, reporter and Julianne Robinson, Parliamentarian.
