COURT HOUSE — Donald Hamer Sr. of Court House had recently resigned from the Board of Supervisors for the Cape-Atlantic Conservation District, where he served as vice chairman of the board, and member of the Budget Committee.
Hamer was appointed as District Supervisor by the New Jersey State Soil Conservation Committee in 2006.
The Cape-Atlantic Conservation District is a legal subdivision of the New Jersey State Government, and is responsible for the regulatory control of: soil erosion, sedimentation and storm water on development projects, the approval of plans for various land uses, the issuance of effective recommendations for use by other regulatory agencies, conducting watershed studies, and providing conservation assistance to land owners and land users throughout Cape May and Atlantic counties.
Hamer is the former director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service in Swainton.
