Earth Day Logo Contest Seeks Entries

CREST HAVEN — The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders is sponsoring the 2010 Earth Day Logo Contest as part of the County’s Earth Day celebration.
That event will take place at the Cape May County Park on Saturday, April 17.  Theme for the logo contest, which is open to Cape May County students, is “The Earth Now…The Earth Then.”
According to a release, students are asked to create an Earth Day Logo to be silk-screened on a recycled tote bag that will be available at the 5-K run kicking off the Earth Day event. A one-mile Earth Walk will also be held along with live entertainment, educational stations, crafts, food and more.
The logo is to be hand drawn, black and white artwork incorporating the theme: “The Earth Now…The Earth Then” submitted on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper.  Each submission is to include the name, address, telephone number and name of school on the back.  The deadline for submissions is March 26, 2010. 
Awards will be announced and presented to the winners at the Freeholders’ meeting on Tuesday, April 13 at 4:30 p.m. at the County Administration Building.
