3rd Annual Creative Recycling Contest to Be Held

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Creative Recycling Contest Committee (CMCCRCC) and the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority (CMCMUA) and are very excited to announce the kick-off of the 3rd Annual County-wide Creative Recycling Contest, Nov. 15, 2012, the day of national celebration of America Recycles Day. This year the committee members decided to have a theme: “The Cape May County Experience.” As always, the purpose of the contest is to promote recycling and reuse while showcasing the creative and extraordinary talents of Cape May County residents.
Entries must be created using reused and/or recycled materials as the primary component. Participants should submit their entries, with a completed contest entry form in one of the four age categories: ages 8 and under, ages 9 to 12 years, ages 13 to 17 years and adult. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each age category.
The contest is open to all Cape May County residents, regardless of age. Entries must be delivered to the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center Building, located at 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, N.J., on Wed., March 20, 2013 or Thur., March 21, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Cape May County Creative Recycling Contest Committee will judge the entries on March 21, 2013.
Entries will be displayed (location to be determined) from April 8 until April 17, 2013. There will also be an “Artist Meet and Greet” reception on April 10th for contestants who wish to discuss their creation with attendees. The winners of each age category, as well as a “People’s Choice Award,” will be formally announced and prizes awarded at the 2013 Cape May County Earth Day Fair, Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Cape May County Park & Zoo.
