Presentation on Water and South Jersey Aquifer to be Held Sept. 27

WEST CAPE MAY – The Environmental Commissions of Cape May, West Cape May and Lower Township invite the public to a presentation on Water and Our South Jersey Aquifer Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m.  Meredith Brown, Conservation Coordinator of the American Littoral Society will be the main speaker along with a representative from the Cape May Water Department. The presentation will take place at the West Cape May Borough Hall located at 732 Broadway in West Cape May.
 This presentation will discuss basic information about the Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer in South Jersey.  “It will cover issues facing the aquifer, such as over pumping of the aquifer.  Finally, we will discuss actions that homeowners can take to reduce their personal water consumption, including appliance upgrades, out-door water conservation, and behavior changes,” explains Meredith Brown. 
High school science teachers are encouraged to bring their students to this important environmental presentation. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers after the speakers. For more information please call 609-780-6510. Please call ahead if you plan on bringing a group.
