MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College awarded 250 scholarships May 15, totaling $253,983 at its 51st Annual Scholarship Recognition Ceremony. Together, the Atlantic Cape Foundation and the college pledged $688,549 in scholarship support for returning and incoming students. This is the largest pledge in the history of the college.
The event included scholarship recipient and donor presentations, a donor reception and light refreshments. Past President’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipients Raymond Davis, ’92, and Dr. Valerie Travis-Reese, ’82, spoke about their experience as students at Atlantic Cape and the important role that education has played in their professional and personal development. Mr. Don Guardian, former mayor of Atlantic City, also spoke about the importance of scholarship funding and educational attainment.
