East Lynne Theater Company thanks the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders
As East Lynne Theater Company continues its season with Helpful Hints at The Chalfonte Hotel and The Guardsman at The First Presbyterian Church, the nonprofit organization thanks the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders for its grant of $8,000.
In keeping with the mission of the Equity professional company, ELTC produces American Stage Classics, many of which have not been produced in over 80 years, as well as producing, nurturing, and encouraging new works based on American literature and history.
ELTC receives national attention through its touring productions, and also, recently due to the interest in the upcoming production of George S. Kaufman and Marc Connelly’s To the Ladies! which was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey,” a program of the National Endowment for the Arts.
East Lynne Theater Company strives to keep its ticket prices modest, but ticket sales pay for less than half of the organization’s expenses. Without funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New Jersey Department of State Division of Travel and Tourism, The Puffin Foundation, sponsors and contributors, and the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the company would not be able to present provocative programming from the past that speaks to audiences of the present.
The Guardsman is playing at the First Presbyterian Church at 500 Hughes Street, Wednesdays through Saturdays, through Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m.
Helpful Hints is playing Aug. 20-31 Wednesdays through Sundays at 8:30 p.m. at The Chalfonte Hotel, 301 Howard Street
