Cape May Film Society is hosting a film retrospective that is in keeping with today’s financial times.
“On with the Show: Hollywood in the 1930s!” will showcase some of the best films that were released during The Great Depression.
“If you sat in the movie theater long enough, you didn’t even know you were in a Great Depression!” says Corbin Cogswell, the Film Society’s program and membership committee chair.
The program will be held for one afternoon only, Sunday, March 29, 2 p.m. at Congress Hall’s Harrison Room.
Lunch and ticket combo is $18; show tickets alone are $10 for nonmembers and $5 for Society members.
The presenter of the program is Paul Sofian, a film historian from Philadelphia that has presented to several organizations.
Tickets are available by calling 609-884-6700 or visiting capemayfilm.org.
Cape May Film Society hosts the annual Cape May Film Festival, recently voted New Jersey’s Best Film Festival by the JerseyArts People’s Choice Awards.
