By Herald Staff

Mark Mauriello, Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, will be at the Wetlands Institute Thursday, Nov. 19, 3 to 4 PM, in conjunction with the release of Field Guide to Dragonflies and Damselflies of New Jersey.
David Golden, one of the authors of the field guide, will make a special presentation at 4 p.m.
The guide was developed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife and features detailed characteristics of 182 species of dragonflies and damselflies, with more than 300 full-color photographs, when and where to find each species, how to recognize them by their behavior, which species are endangered, threatened or historic and tips on how to photograph them.
Authors of the field guide are Allen E. Barlow, David Golden and Jim Bangma.
The event is open to the public.
