Woodbine Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Pointing Gun At State Troopers

WOODBINE – Joseph Lopez, 29, of Woodbine, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after firing several shots toward a crowd and aiming a semi-automatic handgun at New Jersey State Troopers Nov. 16, according to a report in The Middle Township Gazette.
Lopez was also charged with various weapons offenses.
Lopez was apprehended quickly and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center on $500,000 bail. A semi-automatic handgun was recovered.
No injuries were reported.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
