Woman Faces Unlawful Taking Charge

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced the Feb. 9 arrest of Amanda Thomas, 25, of Wildwood Crest, for alleged theft by unlawful taking and computer criminal activity. 
According to a release, upon receiving a complaint from the victim, an investigation was initiated by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crimes Unit. The investigation revealed that Thomas allegedly withdrew $5,000 from the victim’s bank account without the victim’s knowledge.
On Feb. 9, Thomas was charged with computer criminal activity, second degree, and theft by unlawful taking, third degree.
Thomas was processed and released with a summons pending court proceedings.
The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
