Woman Faces Multiple Charges in Crest Burglary

WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police Department received a report of a burglary at a residence on Morning Glory Road at approximately 11:27 p.m. Dec. 3. Wildwood Crest Police detectives, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and Cape May County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit responded.  

During the course of the investigation, Wildwood Crest detectives were able to identify and apprehend Jamie Moncrief, 34, of Wildwood, as the suspect.

On Dec. 4, Moncrief was charged with burglary, burglars tools, aggravated assault on a police officer, and criminal mischief. Moncrief was processed and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.

An additional charge of theft is pending after items belonging to the victim were recovered.

The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
