Woman Charged with Shoplifting from Several Cape May Stores

CAPE MAY – Samantha E. Freeman, 25, of Wildwood Crest, was arrested by the Cape May Police Department Aug. 23 at 1:59 p.m. on a charge related to multiple shoplifting investigations.
Patrolman Matthew Mahoney’s investigation recovered approximately $400 in stolen property and merchandise from several Washington Street Mall area stores and resulted in a single criminal charge against Freeman for shoplifting.
Freeman was released on a complaint summons for shoplifting, a fourth degree offense. She is scheduled to appear in Cape May Municipal Court Aug. 27 at 9 a.m.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
