STONE HARBOR – Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block 106th Street for a report of trespassing at 8:38 p.m. May 25.

The resident told police that when he arrived to the home he attempted to gain entry through the front door but was unable to. While trying to make entry the resident said an interior light turned on. The resident proceeded around to the rear of the property and was able to enter via a rear door. He then noticed that the front door to the property was now standing open. No one was authorized to be at the home. Police checked the interior of the residence and did not find anyone inside. Personal items were found at the property displaying the name Beth Sondles, 52, of Court House. It was also reported that multiple bottles of alcoholic beverages were missing.

A check of surrounding neighborhoods found a subject three blocks away, on foot, carrying two bags. The subject was identified as Sondles. Police stopped Sondles and a subsequent investigation led to her arrest.

Sondles was transported to the police station, processed, charged with burglary and theft, and released with a court date. This case is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
