WILDWOOD CREST – A local woman was arrested for drunk driving Aug. 28, later punching an officer during booking at the station.
Sandra Vogel, 58, of Wildwood Crest allegedly struck a parked vehicle and caused serious damage around 7:20 p.m. Officers responded to the scene, at the 5800 block of New Jersey Avenue, according to a Wildwood Crest police release.
Investigation revealed that Vogel was inebriated. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
It was later, during the booking process at police headquarters, that Vogel struck Officer Domanik Auch in the chest. Auch was not injured.
Vogel has been charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement, obstructing the administration of the law, disorderly conduct, driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, reckless driving and unlicensed driving. She was released on summonses pending a court date.
Any charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
