WILDWOOD – Floribert Nava, 45, of Wildwood, pled guilty to car jacking, a crime of the first degree Feb. 27.

Officer Pawloski, of the Delaware River Port Authority was parked on the shoulder of the Ben Franklin Bridge, in a marked police vehicle, when he was struck by a vehicle being driven by a juvenile victim March 22, 2013. The victim proceeded to jump from the auto and announced to the officer that the passenger in the auto had kidnapped her at gun point earlier in the day from Wildwood.
The passenger of the vehicle, identified as Floribert Nava was subsequently arrested on the bridge and taken in to custody.
Nava pled guilty to car jacking in front of Judge Patricia M. Wild, and was sentenced to 12 years in New Jersey State Prison with the No Early Act provision, which stipulates that the defendant must serve a minimum of 85 percent of the imposed sentence Feb. 27.
Prosecutor Taylor recognizes the efforts of all the agencies involved which resulted in the successful conclusion of this investigation and prosecution.
