Wildwood Police Seek Armed Robbery Suspects

WILDWOOD — At 11:15 a.m. Monday, the suspects were at Milepost 22 southbound, and had entered the woods on foot. Police were in close pursuit and reportedly captured the Hispanic male but three other suspects were still at large, but were in the wooded area of the Parkway’s median strip.
Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit was responding with a tracking dog. The stolen vehicle was located at or near the Cape May Toll Plaza, and suspects were still in the wooded area at 11:25 a.m.
At 11:10 a.m. Monday, Middle Township police were following a vehicle on Garden State Parkway at Milepost 20 northbound, and were asking for assistance prior to making a stop on a vehicle that fit the description of one wanted in connection with a Wildwood armed robbery.
Wildwood police were alerted of an armed robbery at Baker and Pacific avenues Monday about 10:39 a.m. New Jersey license tag on the vehicle was ZA 720L.
Reportedly stolen in the robbery was a 1999 silver Dodge Durango occupied by two black males, one white male, and one Hispanic male.
At 10:50 a.m., police received a report of a male who was allegedly beaten up in the armed robbery in the 200 block West Maple Avenue. An ambulance was dispatched to the address.
