The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
WILDWOOD – On Oct. 18, at approximately 1:32 p.m., Wildwood Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a convenience store in the 400 block of West Rio Grande Ave. for the report of an unconscious/unresponsive subject sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked at that location.
Upon arrival, officers, along with Wildwood Rescue, were able to awaken the subject, identified as Susan L. Kelly, 55, of Villas. After being treated on scene by Wildwood Rescue, Kelly was administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests. Kelly failed these tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Upon being transported to police headquarters, Kelly was searched by a female officer. The search yielded over six bundles of heroin with an approximate street value of $770, which was found in Kelly’s clothing.
Kelly was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe.
As a result of the investigation, Kelly was charged on motor vehicle summonses with DWI and possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance) in a motor vehicle. She was also charged with possession of CDS – heroin, possession of CDS – heroin with intent to distribute, possession of CDS paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe.
After being processed under the conditions set forth in bail reform, Kelly was released on a summons complaint.
