WILDWOOD – A man stabbed four times Sunday night remains hospitalized while police continue to search for his assailant.
Wildwood police said Tuesday that Juan Rivera Gonzales was still recovering from his wounds at Cape Regional Medical Center after being stabbed twice near his waist and another two times under his left arm.
Detectives have talked to him once since the April 3 stabbing near Roberts and New Jersey avenues, and police told the Herald they expect to meet with him again, this time hoping to get more information. They said Gonzales has not been very forthcoming about the attack.
He was stabbed around 8 p.m. Sunday, police said. But when an officer arrived in response to a 911 call, Gonzales was gone.
Police said they received word from the hospital a short time later that a victim with multiple stab wounds showed up at the E.R.
Cops said drugs may play a part in the case. The investigation is ongoing. Detectives believe they are looking for only one assailant.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Wildwood Police Department at (609) 522-0222.
