Wildwood Police Find Burglary Suspect

By Herald Staff

WILDWOOD — On March 25 at approximately 2:49 p.m., Wildwood police responded to a reported burglary at 4800 Arctic Ave.
While en route to that location, police learned that the property owner was chasing the alleged burglar who was fleeing the scene on foot.
Police said the suspect was seen attempting to force entry into the house through a window.
A search of the area led to the arrest of Justin P. Smith, 32, of the 300 block of E. 12th Street, North Wildwood. He was found hiding behind a home on E. Bennett Avenue and taken into custody without incident.
Smith was charged with criminal attempt (burglary), a third-degree crime. Smith was lodged in county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail set by Judge David DeWeese.
