WILDWOOD — The City of Wildwood Police Department has released their annual report for the 2015 calendar year. This is the first annual report ever created by the Wildwood Police Department, but the Department plans to continue producing these reports each year. This report details the operations of the agency, breakdown of manpower, special assignments, productivity, completed improvements in 2015 as well as planned improvements for 2016.
The Wildwood Police Department has taken significant strides to move from what was once a reactive police enforcement mindset to that of a proactive police enforcement mindset. A significant increase in the visibility of our officers, not only in vehicles but on bicycle and foot patrols has been noticeable. Increases in the total number of motor vehicle stops and arrests are reflective of this enforcement activity. Most significantly is there was a reduction of indictable crimes from 2014 to 2015 of 18%. We are extremely proud of all of our officers, who do an absolutely fantastic job every day for our City.
