Wildwood Police Charge 2 with Varied Drug Offenses

The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
WILDWOOD — The Wildwood Police Department Uniform Patrol Division, conducted a suspicious motor vehicle stop Sept. 22 about 2 a.m. in the 100 West Block of Maple Avenue, Wildwood.
According to a release, during the course of the preliminary investigation, it was determined that there was contraband inside the interior of the vehicle.       
During the investigation, a consensual search of the vehicle was obtained from the driver/operator of the vehicle.  As a result of the search of the vehicle, distribution quantities of narcotics were recovered, specifically approximately one-half ounce of crystal methamphetamine and a small quantity of marijuana.  
Additionally seized in connection to the search were narcotics paraphernalia, three folding knives, and a wooden club.  
A portion of the crystal methamphetamine seized was prepackaged for street-level sales.  At the conclusion of the investigation, the following individual(s) were arrested and charged with criminal offenses in connection to the inquiry.
James O’Connor, 28, of Toms River, charged with; possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property, possession of a weapon and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Gary Nelson, 33, of  Court House, charged with; possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property, possession of a weapon and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe.
Both O’Connor and Nelson were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center, in accordance with the procedures/policies of the Attorney General Guidelines Bail Reform Directive.
