WILDWOOD — On Aug. 1, 2013, members of the Wildwood Police Department’s Detective Division conducted an investigation into a suspicious motor vehicle parked in the 200 East block of Youngs Avenue. During the course of the investigation a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Amanda M. Tantaros, an unemployed 21-year-old female from Villas, New Jersey, was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. Tantaros was arrested and, during a search incident to arrest, found to possess fifty-seven (57) bags of suspected CDS/heroin, ten and one-half (10 ½) pills containing CDS/hydrocodone, and several pipes used to ingest crack cocaine.
Tantaros was charged with Possess of CDS/heroin, a 3rd degree charge; Possess of CDS/heroin with the intent to distribute, a 3rd degree charge; Possess of CDS/heroin with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school (Wildwood High School), a 3rd degree charge; Possess of CDS/heroin within 500 feet of a certain public place (The George F. Boyer Museum), a 2nd degree charge; Possession of CDS/hydrocodone, a 3rd degree charge; and Possess of CDS paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
The Honorable Judge Dorothy Garrabrant J.M.C. authorized a warrant complaint and set bail on the charges at $90,000 full cash, no 10%. Tantaros was unable to post the required bail and she was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
