Wildwood Police Arrest Teen on Drug Charges

WILDWOOD — Police arrested an 18-year-old man after he fled from officers and reportedly was in possession of 57 packets of heroin, 164 baggies of cocaine, a quarter pound of marijuana and a digital scale.
On July 30 at 12:30 a.m. three suspicious males were observed coming from an underground parking garage in the 2900 block, adjacent to the boardwalk. According to a police report, members of the Uniformed Patrol Division of the Wildwood Police Department approached the individuals and detected the odor of burnt marijuana on the clothing of Carlos A. Valentin, an unemployed 18-year-old from East Andrews Avenue.
While the officers were conducting their investigation, Valentin reportedly fled on foot and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit and placed under arrest.
Police searched Valentin and according to reports was found in possession of 57 packets of heroin, 164 baggies of cocaine, a quarter pound of marijuana and a digital scale. He was also found to have an existing warrant from Superior Court for violation of probation.
Valentin was lodged in County Correction Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
