Wildwood Police Arrest Burglary Suspect, Seek Second Person

WILDWOOD — Wildwood Police Detective Division on March 3 arrested Joseph Hoggs, a 25-year-old unemployed male residing in North Wildwood in connection with an active burglary and theft investigation.
During the initial investigation, Wildwood police responded to a residence on West Maple Avenue, Nov. 28, 2011 in connection with a burglary and theft, not in progress.
During the follow up investigation by the detective division, physical evidence was developed at the crime scene. Detectives recovered identifiable latent fingerprint evidence which was submitted to the State Police Records Section for analysis.
As a result of the inquiry, a match was developed utilizing the computerized data system. The suspect was identified as Hoggs. He was located and transported to Wildwood Police Headquarters for follow up investigative purposes.
During the interview process, relevant and supportive information was secured linking Hoggs to the burglary and theft. Additionally, a second individual identified as Michael Sullivan, 28, of Wildwood, was identified as being involved in the burglary.
Hoggs and Sullivan were charged with burglary (third degree), theft (third degree) and conspiracy to commit burglary (third degree).
Hoggs was released with a R.O.R. stipulation (Released on Own Recognizance). There is an active arrest warrant for Sullivan. The R.O.R. and arrest warrant were authorized by Wildwood Municipal Court Judge Christopher Robertson.
