WILDWOOD– A Wildwood Crest Police veteran has been charged with DUI following a hit and run crash, Detective Terry Oslar confirmed Monday afternoon.
Oslar said Monday, Oct. 25 that police dispatch received a report that a fire hydrant at Wildwood and Pacific avenues was hit by a pickup truck at 3:09 a.m.
The Ford Ranger truck, was reportedly leaking oil and police followed the leak, which eventually led them to the intersection of Cresse Avenue and Park Boulevard.
Police activated emergency lights to signal the vehicle to pull over.
Capt. Dan Bradley, 48, a member of the Wildwood Crest Police Department since 1985, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a Breathalyzer, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and careless driving.
Bradley, was released on a summons to a sober driver.
