WILDWOOD CREST – Sergeant Robert Lloyd stopped a white male in the 100 West block of Heather Road for a traffic violation March 12 at 1:19 a.m.
While stopped, the male, later identified as William Hays of Wildwood Crest, fled on foot. Sergeant Lloyd observed Hays discard an item as he ran away from him. Hays was apprehended without incident by Sergeant Lloyd. Further investigation revealed that the item discarded by Hays was eight small bags of suspected heroin.
Hays was charged with possession of CDS and obstruction of justice. Hays was released after posting bail set by Judge Louis J. Belaso Jr.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
