Wildwood Cops Nab Bloods Gang Member After Pursuit

By Nancy Rump

WILDWOOD – A high-ranking member of the Bloods street gang was arrested Sat., March 26 following a pursuit with local cops.
Wildwood police said 29-year-old Lee Jaudon ran from police who were called to investigate a disturbance outside the bars on Pacific Avenue around 2 a.m.
Jaudon, unemployed and hailing from Brooklyn, N.Y., darted into the driver’s seat of a nearby BMW when cops approached him. Police said he did not own the car but had the keys to it. It belonged to an acquaintance, police said, but Jaudon’s friend was not along for the joyride.
According to police, Jaudon headed down Garfield Avenue, at one point driving over the sidewalk. He also blew a stop sign.
A few hundred people were in the area, but no one was injured, police said.
He ditched the vehicle near the Brittany Motel at Atlantic and Garfield avenues and took off on foot.
Police said he made it to Lincoln and Atlantic avenues with officers close behind, about two blocks, and was arrested by Patrolmen John Elwell and John Ribera.
A check on his record revealed he was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Office and considered armed and dangerous. Police said Jaudon was listed as a member of the Bloods and considered “high up” in the organization.
He was also wanted in the Brooklyn borough of New York City on drug charges, they said.
Wildwood police charged Jaudon with reckless driving, eluding police, obstruction and resisting arrest.
He was lodged in Cape May County Jail on $100,000 full cash bail.
Despite hailing from Brooklyn, Jaudon is no stranger to the area.
A check of the state Department of Corrections database lists him as serving two sentences, one in 2001 and another from 2002 to 2005. In both cases, Jaudon’s crimes originated in Cape May County.
In 2001, he was convicted of conspiracy and drug possession within 500 feet of public housing. In 2002, he was again convicted of conspiracy and manufacturing, distributing and dispensing drugs.
