COURT HOUSE — A suspect, wanted since September 2009 in connection with an alleged sexual assault here, is no longer free. He was arrested in Broward County, Fla. on Nov. 4 and was extradited back to Cape May County on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 2011.
According to Middle Township police, Bruce L. Parker, 32, was charged with terroristic threats, kidnapping, and aggravated sexual assault in September 2009. Parker has been a fugitive since that time.
Parker is currently incarcerated in Cape May County Correctional Center, according to Capt. John Edwards of Middle Township Police Department.
Parker was on the Herald’s Most Wanted list since the commission of the alleged crimes, being sought by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office for failure to appear in Superior Court.
On Sept. 20, 2009 Middle Township police received a 9-1-1 call from a female reporting she had been sexually assaulted by her boyfriend of six months, Bruce L. Parker, then 30 years old.
Police responded to the area of Gibbs Street, Whitesboro where they met with the victim.
She told police she met with her boyfriend at his residence in the Court House Motel. At the motel, Parker allegedly placed a knife against the throat of the victim and threatened to kill her if she didn’t have sexual intercourse with him, police reported at the time.
After the sexual assault, Parker then transported the victim to Whitesboro, where he sexually and physically assaulted her a second time before allowing her to leave his vehicle, according to police.
After an investigation by the Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the county Prosecutor’s Office, police charged with Parker with aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping and terroristic threats.
Parker was not in custody at the time, and was believed to be in the area driving a light-colored Dodge Durango with Delaware registration.
