CAPE MAY – Vincent T. Kotelnicki, 22, of Villas, was arrested by the Cape May Police Department Nov. 8 at 7:28 a.m. on charges related to burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Police responded to a call at 6:47 a.m. from an Elmira Street business of a burglary in progress. The caller reported that while opening and entering the business, she discovered a person within the premises who then fled by way of the rear door, leaving behind an article of clothing. Initial investigation revealed a damaged window and stolen cash.
Officer Ken Cooper located Kotelnicki in the Washington Street Mall area. Based on evidence left at the scene and information gathered and developed by Officer Cooper, Kotelnicki was arrested for the offense.
Kotelnicki is charged with burglary, third degree, theft, fourth degree, and criminal mischief, disorderly persons offense. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in Cape May Municipal Court Wed., Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
