VILLAS – On Thursday June 3 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Lower Township Patrol Officers were called to the Bella Magana restaurant located on Bayshore Road in Villas regarding a theft of items from a motor vehicle.
Investigation on scene determined that someone had thrown a large rock through the window of an employee of the restaurants motor vehicle and removed a Tom Tom GPS, a radar detector and gold jewelry from the vehicle with a total value of over $1,450.00.
Bystanders in the area reported seeing a suspicious male subject near the motor vehicle before the theft described as a white male approximately 35 – 40 years old thin build with acne craters on his face wearing a red Philly’s hat, gray T-shirt and shorts.
Other witnesses advised officers that the suspect goes by the name “CHUCK the DUCK”.
Detective Chris Lambert then assisted with the investigation and was able to locate the suspect identified as Charles Barlow age 37 in the 100 block of Magnolia Ave in the Villas.
After further investigation officers recovered the stolen GPS and radar detector and arrested Barlow for Burglary and theft.
Barlow was processed at the Lower Township Police Department where bail was set by Lower Township Municipal Court Judge David Deweese at $ 20,000.000 full cash bail.
Barlow was subsequently lodged in the Cape May County Jail in default of bail.
