CORRECTION: A previous headline referred to Parsons as a Dennis Township man. He lives in Upper Township.
COURT HOUSE – The County Prosecutor’s Office has announced the arrest of Raymond E. Parsons, a 77-year-old Ocean View man, on child pornography charges.
The arrest marks the second child-porn-related incident in less than a month’s time, although the previous arrest was in Middle Township.
A release from the Prosecutor’s Office did not indicate a connection between the two arrests.
Several local, state, and federal groups worked together to coordinate the investigation and eventual arrest, including the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), New Jersey State Police Woodbine Barracks, and New Jersey State Police K-9 Unit.
A search of Parsons’ home on Hope Corson Road took place Jan. 27. Several computers were seized, and authorities found what the Prosecutor’s Office called “suspected child sexual abuse materials,” although it is unclear at this time what those materials are or how many of them were seized.
Parsons is presumed innocent until proven guilty and is being held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
