UPDATED: Lower Police Investigate Alleged Armed Robbery of Deli

VILLAS — Lower Township police received a 9-1-1 call from the American Deli located on Bayshore Road reporting an armed robbery, Thur. Oct. 13 about 8:22 p.m.
Upon arrival, police were informed, a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, unknown front logo, blue jeans and white shoes, entered through the side door and held the employee at gunpoint. The gunman removed approximately $250 in cash and fled the deli.
The gun was described as a black revolver, with chrome trim and a long barrel.
Members of the Cape May County Sheriffs K9 Unit assisted in the search, Detectives are processing video of the crime captured on surveillance from inside the deli.
Lower Township Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Lower Township Police Department at 609-886-1619, extension 157 or Crime Stoppers at 609-465-2800. Callers can remain anonymous.
