UPDATE: Wanted Man Turns Himself In

UPDATE: James Hoyle has turned himself in to the Middle Township Police Department. Charges are pending.
WHITESBORO – Middle Township Police Department responded to the 600 block West Main Street in Whitesboro for a report of a subject armed with a handgun and shots fired Aug. 7 at 1:26 a.m. 
Officers responded to the area and safely evacuated occupants from the residence. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.   
A perimeter was established and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team was activated. Mutual aid was requested from the Wildwood Police Department, Stone Harbor Police Department, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, and Avalon Police Department to assist with the perimeter. New Jersey State Police dispatched their helicopter to assist in searching the area.  
West Main Street in Whitesboro is closed starting at Pennsylvania Avenue and Gibbs Street is closed at Wiley Street.
The subject is identified as James Hoyle, 36, and is believed to be in the area of West Main Street in Whitesboro. Police are attempting to locate Hoyle at this time. If you see Hoyle, do not approach him and call 911 immediately. Charges are pending.
