UPDATE: Wanted Man Turns Himself In

UPDATE: Eric Smith turned himself in to the Middle Township Police Department. He was placed in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
GREEN CREEK – Middle Township Police Department responded to the 500 Block of Route 47 in Green Creek for a report of a man with a handgun April 29 at 7:30 p.m.
While patrol units were responding to the location, the man left the area in a vehicle. Further investigation revealed Eric Smith, 28, of Whitesboro went to the location to confront a resident of the location. Smith assaulted the resident and the altercation escalated to Smith pulling a handgun and waving it around.
Smith has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. He is listed as a wanted person. The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
