UPDATE: Sheriffs’ Association of New Jersey Announces Results of Child Support Sweep

COURT HOUSE – Sheriffs’ Association of New Jersey (SANJ) President, Salem County Sheriff Charles M. Miller, announced the apprehension of 760 delinquent parents in SANJ’s Sixth Annual Child Support Warrant Sweep July 18.
The goal of the three-day, intensive Non Support Sweep which took place July 15 through July 17, was to apprehend non-custodial parents who have failed to pay their court-ordered child support. Additional targets included parents who have failed to appear at court hearings to establish a child support order or order for medical support.
The Sweep was hosted in cooperation with the New Jersey Office of Child Support Services (OCSS). The Sheriffs’ Association of New Jersey SANJ was the lead agency in this event as per the Sheriff IV-D Cooperative Agreement between OCSS and the Sheriffs’ Association, as authorized under Federal Regulation 45 CFR 302.34. The OCSS has commended both the Sheriffs’ Association of New Jersey and the Judiciary for collaboratively supporting the Sheriff’s final procedures and data report for the Sheriffs’ Child Support Warrant Sweep.
According to Sheriff Schaffer in Cape May County there were 17 subjects arrested for non-support warrants with a total of 23 warrants served. The following fugitives were arrested during this sweep:
July 15:
Randy Duley, 29, Villas
Robert Harris, 48, Wildwood
Daronn Jones, 38, Villas
Warren Colwell, 28, Woodbine
Abelardo Fraga Ortiz, 27, Sea Isle City
David Flick, 47, Villas
Natalie Scholz, 33, Woodbine
Joseph Weidman, 34, Villas
Mathew Deoliveira, 33, Court House
Joseph Diamond, 26, Court House
Samuel Gazzara, 28, Court House
Michael Lomonaco, 36, Court House
Alishia Holmes, 27, Rio Grande
David Jefferson, 40, Court House
Donald Titus, 36, Court House
David Barcklow, 35, Westville PD
July 16:
James Duvilla, 40, Wildwood
Six of those subjects went to jail. They were:
Randy Duley
Joseph Weidman
Alishia Holmes
Joseph Diamond
James Duvilla
David Barcklow
The total amount due on the warrants for back child support was $204,500.08. Total amount collected on warrants was $5,275. Additionally, the following subjects were arrested on municipal/other warrants:
David Flick: Middle Twp., ATS $64.00; Wildwood Crest, ATS $35
Natalie Scholz: Dennis Twp., ATS $120
Samuel Gazzara: Wildwood, ATS $525.00; Millville, ACS $1001
Alishia Holmes: Lower, ATS $314.00; Lower, ATS $89
Subject James Duvilla, arrested on non-support was also charged with resisting arrest, possession of controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $40,000 full.
“Our job in a sweep like this is to attempt to develop background information on possible locations, locate, arrest and bring offenders before the judge whose job along with probation is to attempt to satisfy the outstanding financial obligation and other court imposed requirements. I want to commend the Warrants Unit and ID unit for their hard work in developing intelligence, locating and arresting these individuals and our Correctional Officers who processed the 17 arrestees,” said Sheriff Schaffer.
Sheriff Schaffer continued, “I continue to ask the public for their assistance in apprehending all our fugitives by going to our web site www.cmcsheriff.net, look on our Facecrook page where are active warrants are located, then call us with information or use our anonymous tip line and APP to pass on information anonymously. The criminal has no greater enemy than the citizen and police working together.”
Sheriff’s Officers from statewide Sheriff’s Offices, with assistance from other agencies, canvassed the state in search of offenders over the course of the three-day Child Support Sweep. A total of 760 warrants were served and approximately $130,995.95 was collected. The total amount of money owed on the warrants was $14,856,998.40.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
