UPDATE: Police Nab Third Suspect in Theft Incident

NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police were contacted by the Clayton Police Department July 22 stating that they arrested Leander Jarrell. Jarrell was the third suspect wanted in connection for an incident at Morey’s Piers in North Wildwood July 11, 2015. 
Jarrell, 23, from Clayton, N.J., was charged with theft, use of a 17-year-old or younger to commit a crime, criminal mischief and defiant trespass. Jarrell was transported to Cape May County Correctional Center. Bail was set by Judge Louis Belasco, Jr. in the amount of $35,000 full cash.

North Wildwood Police have taken two juveniles into custody in Clayton, N.J. after requesting assistance from the public on the identity of suspects involved with a theft and criminal mischief case. A press release and post on social media of surveillance photos of three suspects were sent out in an attempt to identify them from an incident that occurred on Morey’s Piers at 25th and Boardwalk July 11. North Wildwood Police received tips a few hours after the post was made on the department’s Facebook page. 
The two juveniles, ages 13 and 16 and both from Clayton, were charged by North Wildwood Police Detectives Daniel Schules and Mark Elliott July 21. The juveniles were taken into custody with the assistance of the Clayton Police Department. Both juveniles were charged with theft, criminal mischief and defiant trespass and were turned over to the custody of their parents. 
The third subject has been identified as Leander Jarrell, 23, from Clayton, N.J. Jarrell has not yet been arrested and is still at large. Jarrell has been charged with theft, use of a 17-year-old or younger to commit a crime, criminal mischief and defiant trespass. A warrant was issued for Jarrell with bail to be set upon his arrest. 
The North Wildwood Police Department would like to thank the media and public for assisting us in this investigation and to thank over 1,000 people and organizations that shared the pictures of the suspects on Facebook. Cape May County Crime Stoppers and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office tip411 system were also utilized in this investigation.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.

North Wildwood Police Department is attempting to identify suspects from an incident of third degree theft and criminal mischief that occurred on Morey’s Piers at 25th and Boardwalk July 11. 
The three suspects, pictured here from Morey’s Piers surveillance video, are white males and approximately 16-20 years old. Suspect one was wearing a white shirt with the Nike “Swoosh” logo and cargo shorts. Suspect two was wearing glasses with a darker shirt and a design with shorts. Suspect three appeared to be bigger than the other two, possibly with facial hair. 
The item stolen was a computerized terminal cash register valued at $2,400 and a security camera was damaged valued at $300.
