UPDATE: Police Arrest Two Suspected of Robbing a Rio Grande Store

RIO GRANDE – Detectives from the Middle Township Major Crime Unit arrested two suspects Sept. 8 for the robbery of the Family Dollar.
Christopher Tracy, 58, and Oscar DeJesus, 31, both of North Cape May were charged with armed robbery, (first degree), and conspiracy to commit robbery, (second degree). They are being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center on $250,000 bail.

Middle Township Police Department responded to the Family Dollar Store located in the Village Shoppes in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township for a reported armed robbery Sept. 5 at approximately 8:59 p.m.
It was reported, an individual described as either a Hispanic or light skinned black male, approximately 5’6″ tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds, wearing all dark clothing with a do-rag on his head and around his neck, entered the store, displayed a firearm then threatened store employees and demanded money from the cash register. Once an amount of money was provided to the individual, he fled on foot and was last seen traveling in an easterly direction. No one was injured during the incident.
Detectives are currently viewing surveillance footage to determine the identity of the individual. The Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation.
