DENNIS TOWNSHIP– On May 2, Middle Township Police received a request from Stone Harbor Police to be on the lookout for a motorcycle that had eluded Officers from that Department. The motorcycle was last seen heading west on Stone Harbor Boulevard.
Cpl Dougherty of Middle Township Police was in the area and spotted the motorcycle. Cpl Dougherty attempted to stop the motorcycle, which continued without stopping. Cpl Dougherty followed the motorcycle north on the parkway, west on Avalon Blvd., and then north on US 9. The motorcycle was driving so recklessly that the pursuit was called off. The motorcycle continued on US 9 where he crashed just south of Route 83.
The driver of the motorcycle Robert J.Hupperich Jr. 26 from Tyler road in Dennisville, was arrested at the crash site by Cpl Dougherty.
Hupperich was transported to Middle Township Police department. He was charged with eluding, a third degree crime. He was placed in Cape May County Corrections Center; bail was set at $35,000.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
