UPDATE: Armed Man Arrested at Higbee Beach ID’d

HIGBEE BEACH – At approximately 2:24 p.m. June 12, Lower Township Police were dispatched to Higbee Beach, for a report of a suspicious man with a handgun and hatchet in his waiarrived on the scene and were able to locate the man at the beach entrance and arrested him without incident. Both the hatchet and firearm (located in the parking lot) were safely retrieved. The firearm was confirmed to be a pellet gun. 

Nelson P. Delisa, 38, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was charged with unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), and possession/distribution of hypodermic syringes, and he was released on a summons, pending a future court date. 

The above is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person named is innocent unless proven otherwise.
