Two Face Multiple Drug Charges As 5-Week Investigation Ends

WILDWOOD – Members of the Wildwood Police Department Street Crimes Unit concluded a five-week investigation concerning the sales of narcotics from a residence in the 100 block West Taylor Avenue, located in Wildwood. At approximately 6:30 p.m. April 25, Cape May County Regional Swat Team executed a court authorized search warrant targeting the aforementioned residence, in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics from the residence.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, distribution quantities of cocaine and distribution quantities of marijuana were recovered during the search of the premise. The controlled dangerous substance seized in connection to the investigation was prepackaged for street level sales. Additionally seized in connection to the search of the premise was a small amount of suspected Xanax pills, narcotics paraphernalia and approximately $2,050 which was identified as proceeds of the illicit street level sales and distribution of narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged with the appropriate criminal offenses; Danny Joyner, 34, and Dorothy Peak, 58, both of Wildwood.
Both defendants were charged with possession of cocaine, third degree, distribution of cocaine, second degree, distribution of cocaine in a school zone, third degree, distribution of cocaine in a public place, second degree, possession of a weapon while committing a narcotics offense, second degree, possession of narcotics (Xanax), third degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense, distribution of marijuana, fourth degree, distribution of marijuana in a school zone, third degree, distribution of marijuana in a public place, third degree, possession of a prohibited weapon (stun gun), fourth degree, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third degree, unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
Judge Andrew Cafiero of the Wildwood Municipal Court authorized the warrant complaints for Joyner and Peak. Joyner was served his copies of the warrant complaints and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center. Peak was served her copies of the warrant complaints and released on her own recognizance pending a future court date.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
