Two Face Drug Charges Following Motor Vehicle Stop

VILLAS – On April 21, at approximately 8:11 p.m., Lower Township detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Bayshore Road and Miami Avenue in Villas.
As a result of the stop the vehicle driver Matthew R. Boyes, 19, and passenger Kirstyn Chapis, both from Villas, were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and CDS, specifically marijuana.
Boyes and Chapis were arrested on scene and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, both disorderly persons offenses.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
