BURLEIGH – Middle Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Guns, Gangs, and Narcotics Task Force, executed a court authorized search warrant at a motel on the 400 block North Wildwood Boulevard. As a result of the search warrant, crack cocaine, heroin, and cocaine were seized.
Benito Martinez, 37, and Lamard Canty, 33, both of Millville, were arrested.
Martinez was charged with distribution of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) – heroin, third degree; distribution of CDS – cocaine, second degree; and two counts of possession of CDS. Martinez was lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $100,000 full cash bail.
Canty was charged with conspiracy to distribute CDS – heroin, third degree; conspiracy to distribute CDS – cocaine, second degree; and one count of possession of CDS. Canty was lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $90,000 full cash bail.
Daniel Santaniello, 24, of Rio Grande was arrested after he was observed leaving the motel just prior to the search warrant execution. Santaniello was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and Xanax. Santaniello was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $20,000 full cash bail.
