SWAINTON- Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the arrest of Monica Schaffer, 51, of Somers Point and Robert Gyeh, 41, of Atlantic City for the theft of over $75,000 dollars from the Avalon Honda dealership of Swainton.
On Nov. 7, Middle Township Police Detectives were notified of thefts committed by one of the agency employees, Monica Schaffer. An ensuing investigation was conducted by Middle Township Detectives and members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit. As a result, Schaffer and Gyeh were arrested and charged with second degree theft and conspiracy charges.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Prosecutor Taylor and Chief Leusner recognize the efforts of the agencies involved which resulted in the apprehensions during this ongoing investigation.
