Two Arrested on Drugs and Weapons Charges; 189 Bags of Heroin Seized

WILDWOOD- Two local residents Jahmal Langston and Eileen McCloskey, were arrested during the execution of three search warrants in Wildwood, New Jersey.
The arrests are a result of a cooperative effort by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force and the Wildwood Police Department.
On Oct. 28, three court authorized search warrants were executed by the Cape May County Regional S.W.A.T team in the 100 West block of Poplar Avenue in Wildwood. As a result of the investigation, 189 bags of heroin were seized along with a loaded handgun, drug paraphernalia and $1,791, submitted as civil forfeiture as proceeds from the illegal sale of controlled dangerous substances.
As a result of the investigation, Jahmal Langston, 33, of Wildwood was charged with the following and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 full cash bail:
Possession of heroin, a third degree crime.
Possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree.
Possession of heroin, with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public place, a crime of the second degree.
Possession of heroin, with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone, a crime of the third degree.
Unlawful possession of a weapon, a crime of the third degree.
Certain persons not to possess a weapon, a crime of the second degree.
Eileen McCloskey, 35, of Wildwood, was charged with the following and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail:
Possession of heroin, a third degree crime.
Possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree.
Possession of heroin, with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public place, a crime of the second degree.
Possession of heroin, with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone, a crime of the third degree.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison; persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Prosecutor Taylor commented that his office will continue to work with the local municipalities to vigorously investigate and target these individuals who continually distribute these dangerous controlled substances, such as heroin and any other illegal substances being sold within the County of Cape May.
